Allowing for ebbs and flows in our energy, emotional ups and downs, and life’s tumultuous tides, we accept a bend in the road or a good cry that can leave us feeling lost and behind schedule. Welcome to week 3+. The past two weeks I felt lost and unsettled in my professional life.
Have you ever felt lost along your career path, or with a friendship or any relationship, or in your health or spirituality?
I recognize feeling lost can be a sign of changing at one’s core. I have changed from who I was six months ago and am moving toward who I want to be and am now seeing the daily reminders and emotions coming from this, including feeling lost. I want different things, love means more in all relationships, contributing to society means something different now. In so many ways, I’m in awe of this transformation. But I also feel like I could step of this ledge of change and fall flat on my face.
I’m trying not to run from these feelings. I’m trying to befriend them, and the uncertainty stirring in me. I am becoming more aware of the emotions and what they could mean.
In the past two weeks I’ve reintroduced certain aspect from my coaching and personal growth teachings into my daily practices. I’ve taken up meditating to the theme of letting go of outcomes. It’s calming me and the projections I have of what may or may not be part of tomorrow’s path. As I practice these meditations and mantras, I realize the negative thinking I thought had taken over my life is quieting.
Here are some mantras I’ve used. “Allow for others, allow for self.” “Risk. Playful. Take Action.” Power words I want to embody. “All the certainty in life I desire is within me.” Let your mind think of the what ifs and possibilities of who you want to be and what you want to learn. Then, building a phrase, or question, or power words will come more easily and fit your situation. Or try a guided meditation and listen three times a week. Anytime we begin building new pathways in our minds, we center ourselves, and feeling lost disappears.
